I really like this song....the clarity of what you are saying comes through nicely and I love the simplicity of the lyric...and it is 100% relatable...been there done that...also impressed with what Suno does...but then it all starts with the author being talented....good stuff

Thanks Steve.
I had a feeling that there was somebody out there, other than me, who had found themselves looking at a circumstance like this, at some point in their life.
Thanks for the encouraging words.

Red,
thank you for your comment and your feedback. As for me, I write from the gut hoping to reach people in the gut. This song is in the first person and it is telling it, because that's the way it looked at the time.
I write for me, and for people who would see this and immediately relate to it. I don't write for the music industry and don't worry about whatever their tacit rules are for writing songs.
Having said that, it does not mean that I don't appreciate your comments. I do appreciate them. I may not act on them, but it is informative to know what they are. And in the future, I may write a song where I show rather than tell. I'm sure that I will.
Thanks for stopping by

I see the heart of this lyric, but in order to be a lyric, I would hope it wasn't so "literal". I did this, you did that, let's try again.
You have to the "feeling" of the literal words and put them "into" a story, in my opinion. I've done that exercise over the years. Don't "tell" me, "show" me.

Let’s Fall In Love Again
https://soundclick.com/song/15272928
Lyrics by Lawhon
Chord structure by Lawhon
Genre: Modern Country
Method: Old Lawhon G/V uploaded to SUNO
SUNO determined production
I thought that I was done with songs for a while, but SUNO makes it so fast and easy, that I knocked out another. Am trying to assemble a collection for Spotify. In this one, I uploaded an old G/V that I did not like into SUNO. The personal thrill comes when I get to hear the song sung the way that I always wished that I could.
[Intro]
[acoustic guitar strumming, clean electric guitar lead melody]
[drums and bass enter]
[Verse 1]
[baritone male vocals]
Last time that we broke up
I thought it for the best
All we did was fight
I had to put all that to rest
When I walked away
I had no future plans
Find some sunny days
And enjoy my life again
[Chorus]
[vocal harmonies enter]
And I found somebody new
And she wanted us to last
But my memories of you
Wrecked any chance we had
Let's fall in love again
But not where we left off
Let's find a way, make it stay
Last a lifetime long
Let's fall in love again
But not where we went wrong
The past is gone, we belong
In a love that we both want
Let's fall in love again
[Instrumental Break]
[electric guitar solo with melodic bends and slides]
[acoustic guitar rhythm continues]
[Verse 2]
They say in every life
There's one truest love
I guess that gets decided
In heaven up above
I think about such
I wonder if it's true
'Cause every time we split up
I want another you
[Chorus]
And I tried it on my own
I denied what I knew
That lovers come and go
But there's only one you
Let's fall in love again
But not like we left off
Let's find a way, make it stay
Last a lifetime long
Let's fall in love again
But not where we went wrong
The past is gone, we belong
In a love that we both want
Let's fall in love again
Again
Again
[Outro]
[electric guitar lead fades out]
[acoustic guitar final strum]
