I've heard the hook before , but you did a good job on it Rob

Thanks Ben! I googled what you mentioned. I couldn't find any well-known hits with the title "Still Holding On". "Hold On" or "Hold Me" on the other hand was the title of a couple of huge hits. Good catch.

Hi Rob,

I read the lyrics before listening, really like the lyrics. But I had something else in my head as far as the music goes, but this sounds good.

Good Luck
Tex

Hey Tex,
Thanks for taking the time to listen, I really appreciate it. I know exactly what you mean. At first, I was trying to get Suno to create something that captured the sorrow and emptiness in the lyrics. It came out very sad and heavy, really emphasizing the exhaustion of the relationship rather than the hope of moving on. Honestly, it made me tear up every time I heard it.
Just for fun, I tried a more jazz-pop approach, and it shifted the feel toward frustration and inner strength instead. That’s when it clicked for me. I realized I wanted the song to reflect resilience and the decision to keep going.
So the music ended up supporting that idea, the sense that “holding on” isn’t passive, but a conscious and sometimes difficult choice.

Here's a new song I just wrote called “Still Holding On”. It’s not about me, so nothing to worry about. I hope you like it. Feedback is always appreciated.

Still Holding On

[Instrumental Intro]

[Verse]
We used to laugh, stay up way too late
Dream about forever like it couldn’t break
But something started changing in your eyes
Now I’m like talking to silence every night

[Pre-chorus]
I keep reaching out, but you drift away
Every word I say just fades to gray

[Chorus]
I’m holding on, I’m not letting go
Oh, it hurts more than you know
I’m giving you all that I have to give
But I still deserve a life to live
You’re feeling more and more gone
And I’m still holding on

[Break]

[Verse]
You say you’re fine but I can see through
The quiet in the room says more than you do
Every little thing turns into a war
And I don’t recognize us anymore

[Pre-chorus]
I don’t want to leave, I just want you back
But the more I stay, the more I crack

[Chorus]
I’m holding on, I’m not letting go
Oh, it hurts more than you know
I’m giving you all that I have to give
But I still deserve a life to live
You’re feeling more and more gone
And I’m still holding on

[Bridge]
Maybe love means letting go sometimes
Maybe strength is drawing lines
I never thought It’d come to this
A choice like this I can’t dismiss
Between losing you
Or losing me too

[Interlude]

[Final chorus]
I’m holding on, I’m not letting go
Oh, it hurts more than you know
I’m giving you all that I have to give
But I still deserve a life to live
You’re feeling more and more gone
And I’m still holding on

[Outro]
I’m still holding on
I’m still holding on
