Scars tracks are being made , April is busy season for Nashville . So I don't bother him . When it gets here it gets here
I think I can cut this , it comes down to budget on getting them done. Who you calling a cracker ? lol. Dave Chapell
The devil went to Georgia is a pretty fast song , I'll check Bpms later when I cut it

I think a lot of what Elvis does is 68 to 74BPM.
Have you done Scars yet?
And yes this is something you need to do yourself.

I think the lyrics are spot on and very very good.............. I just wish the pace was a little quicker like the Devil went down to Georgia, ya know? Can you try it that way?

Verse 1
I grew up where the dust don’t settle on your name
Just sticks to your boots and follows you in shame
Got a family tree with a couple broken limbs
And a past that talks when the night gets thin
Sheriff knew my daddy, said “you’re cut the same”
I said “maybe worse,” he just laughed and wrote my name
Been runnin’ from a story I didn’t write
But it reads like truth in a barroom light
Chorus
They call me Cousin Cracker, like I’m born to lose
Like I’m some backroad punchline they can all abuse
But I wear it like a badge, let it cut me deep
Yeah I made friends with the ghosts I keep
You can laugh, you can talk, you can drag my name
But I ain’t never been afraid of a little shame
If you’re lookin’ for a saint, better look elsewhere
They call me Cousin Cracker… I don’t care
Verse 2
Got a cousin doin’ time and an uncle in debt
And a mama still prayin’ I ain’t dead yet
Preacher said “son you can still be saved”
I said “not tonight, got a hole to pave”
I been one step ahead or two steps gone
Singin’ truth in a world that plays along
Yeah I learned real quick what the label’s worth
It’s just cheap ink tryin’ to measure a man’s dirt
Bridge
Names don’t hang you… people do
But I’ve been worse than what they knew
Final Chorus (lift)
Yeah they call me Cousin Cracker, now I say it proud
Turned a whisper in the dark to a shout out loud
Ain’t no clean hands in this town tonight
Just different shades of wrong and right
If you’re countin’ sins, better count me twice
I’ve been rollin’ hard on borrowed dice
You can judge me now, but I’ll still be there—
They call me Cousin Cracker… I don’t care
I will cut this next
