Wow, you really dug deep on this one! I know I posted it a few days ago, so that's a good job.
Myself and another writer were actually working on this song for the past week and it's almost done, but I wanted to get other people's input, so thank you for that!
I'll post our lyric later today and see what you think!

Hi! Well I love a good challenge writing activity and this one pulled me in. I hope this is the correct place to post it. :D
This is what I came up with for the concept or idea of America metaphorically as a Woman. Hope you like it.
I’m a Woman
V1
From conception I’ve labored in fight
My babies born in the dark of night
Always learning from what I’ve done
Sometimes I’ve lost, sometimes I’ve won
But I think I try too hard to be
The mother everyone wants to see
I think the house I’ve built is stressed
My home has always been a test
Ch
Oh I'm a woman
In a time
Where stable ground
Presents a climb
I'm a woman
At this stage
Torn inside
By fear and rage
V2
My body carries a weight beyond
My figure extends across the pond
No matter what you think of me
My hopes will shine, my stars are free
But deep inside my house there's tension
Bringing me to the world's attention
Where I will go and what I do
Will always simmer in my stew
Ch
Oh I'm a woman
In a time
Where stable ground
Presents a climb
I'm a woman
At this stage
Torn inside
By fear and rage
Br
I'm single just like my children
We've spread ourselves too thin
Struggling to keep up with standards that were set
Now the conflict is setting in
Ch
Oh I'm a woman
In a time
Where stable ground
Presents a climb
I'm a woman
At this stage
Torn inside
By fear and rage

Imagine America is a woman and all she's been through, not denying the past mistakes but saying, it's my job to nurture, protect and defend and I didn't always get it right, but I'm still here.
Any thoughts people??
