A very slick pop/rock production. Excellent vocals throughout. It has a European feel to it - that's not meant as a criticism in any way, it's just how I hear it. As others have said already, really strong lyrics with some nice twists. I enjoyed this. :)

Robert,
The praise is well-deserved,
If I could write half as good as that, I would be very pleased with myself.
I certainly hope you have more to share with us, I'll be looking out for them.

Hey Sid,
thank you for the great feedback - honestly, you made my day.
I put a lot of effort into the lyrics, so I’m really glad that came through.
Most of the feedback so far has been about the vocals, so it means a lot that you focused on the writing.
Really appreciate it!

All the best - Robert

An excellent piece of social commentary written in an easy flowing style.
Lost count of the brilliant phrases used throughout the song, well done.
Enjoyed this very much, you have a talent for this genre.

Love the voice you put on it, but ................ is this about a specific person?

Hey Kay-lynn,
thanks for the feedback. That's actually the AI copy of my real voice. When my wife heard it she asked: "Since when have you been taking singing lessons?"

Of course I had a specific person in mind when I wrote this. I didn't mention the guy's name in the song but I think it's pretty obvious. Look at the pic that AI generated for me when I uploaded the lyrics. I know many people won't agree with me but I'm totally fine with that. It is not my intention to make a political statement and I don't want to get involved in any political discussions. That topic was on my mind when I started writing the lyrics. Like I wrote: it's a critique of vanity, ego, and the facade of fame, likely focused on someone who prioritizes their image over truth. There are a lot of people like that.
I'm glad you liked the voice.
All the best - Robert

"Mirror Mirror" is a critique of vanity, ego, and the facade of fame, likely focused on someone who prioritizes their image over truth. The chorus ("Mirror mirror on the air / Who’s the greatest anywhere") is hopefully memorable and follows a familiar fairy-tale motif that resonates easily with listeners. With the recurring question, "How long can it last?" I wanted to underscore the inevitable downfall of an image built on "sweet disguise" and "glass." The intention here was to balance a commercial sound with a social critique. In Suno I used the following prompts: pop, dark, minimal, dramatic, ethereal, vocal harmonies, mellifluous, anthemic, catchy, serious, studio production. The vocals used are a persona of my own real voice (just much better). I hope you like it.

[Instrumental intro]

[Verse]
Man on the TV, shining like gold
Selling a story that’s already sold
Says he’s the greatest, none come close
Hands out crowns, makes his own toast

[Pre-chorus]
You raise a question, you cross the line
Funny how doubt gets framed as crime

[Chorus]
Whoa, mirror, mirror, on the air
Who’s the greatest anywhere?
“Why, it’s you,” the echo cries
Drowning truth in sweet disguise
Laugh it off, but don’t you blink
There’s more here than you might think
Whoa, mirror, mirror, made of glass
Tell me, how long can it last?

[Break]

[Verse]
Feeds on the praise like a shot of gin
Blame rolls out, never rolls in
Calls ‘em all jealous, calls ‘em all fake
Still can’t look from the noise they make

[Pre-chorus]
Promises big, then redraws the lines
Sells you a dream, then changes the signs

[Chorus]
Whoa, mirror, mirror, on the air
Who’s the greatest anywhere?
“Why, it’s you,” the echo cries
Drowning truth in sweet disguise
Laugh it off, but don’t you blink
There’s more here than you might think
Whoa, mirror, mirror, made of glass
Tell me, how long can it last?

[Bridge]
No sorry, no shame, no looking behind
Just sparks in the dark and a change of mind
If empathy’s gone, like it never belonged
What breaks in a country, when wrong feels strong?

[Interlude]

[Final chorus]
Whoa, mirror, mirror, on the air
Who’s the greatest anywhere?
“Why, it’s you,” the echo cries
Drowning truth in sweet disguise
Laugh it off, but don’t you blink
There’s more here than you might think
Whoa, mirror, mirror, made of glass
Tell me, how long can it last?

[Outro]
Whoa… mirror, mirror, on the air…
(Who’s the greatest anywhere?)
Whoa, mirror, mirror, made of glass…
(Tell me, how long will it last?)
