MP3 songs for Review/Critique / Re: When you get whats comin to you

I like this Sid. It's built around a well used chord sequence..not a crit - most of my songs are too!! You say it's back catalog..I don't remember hearing this one before. The vocal is very AI - but I'm thinking that might be intentional here. A damn good song. :)

I could read all sorts into the lyrics. It sounds personal but I could be completely wrong. Not a bad idea to keep listeners guessing I reckon. The makings of a classic song here. I think the vocal on the chorus stretches a bit too high - that's my only crit, but it's work in progress. A male voice might work better, but that might take it away from what you're trying to say. I'm liking this so far.

This is a good listen. I read Tex's suggestions - I'd be interested to hear it that way, but I'm liking this a lot as it is. The right lyrics for this genre.  :)

Wow, for somebody whose 72 (I think i've seen that in a post), you still have a great quality to your voice. the guitars seemed a bit muffled but it could be my speakers.
Thank you. Yup,turned 72 the other day. I intend to keep going till I can't. Just got back from band practice! I'll check out the guitars - do you mean the solo or the rhythm?

I don't play country music myself but I love to hear it and this is great. I'm loving the lyrics..a lot of fun there. And what a great arrangement. What's not to like?  :)

A very slick pop/rock production. Excellent vocals throughout. It has a European feel to it - that's not meant as a criticism in any way, it's just how I hear it. As others have said already, really strong lyrics with some nice twists. I enjoyed this. :)

Good to catch up again here. This is everything I've come to expect from you. I'd to hear this one live, but as an Elvis/AI production it works great. No crits from me.. Love it. :)

This is remarkable. It could easily be featured in a film - James Bond even? You are so adventurous with the arrangements. There's an almost classical feel to the instrumentation. This is clever. :)

Nice song Sid. You're using the technology to great advantage. Great words and I reckon this has a commercial feel to it - not that I'd know!! Just the odd moment on the vocal which gives away that it's AI - but that really is me nit picking. This is great Sid. Keep em comin' :)

My first song on this forum. It was loosely inspired by a long weekend in Paris with my daughter. Hope I've done this right.

Métropolitain
Words and music written and performed by Chris Price ©2026

Métropolitain

I’m heading south again to the boulevard Margeurite de Rochechouart
I’m seeing an old new friend, she live so near but never go that far

Up and down the metro line, Haute cuisine and drink fine wine
Camembert demi baguette, her gallic shrug you can’t forget
It was love on Line 2...of the Métropolitain Line

She wore the t-shirt and beret, conquered me in every way
Broken English and broken heart, spit me out I have no say

Up and down the metro line, Haute cuisine and drink fine wine
Camembert and French baguette, the gallic shrug you can’t forget
It was love on Line 2…

With a sophisticated, cosmopolitan liberal mind and her psychedelic streak
Turn me inside out with all her streetwise and funky debonair chique

I’m heading south again to the boulevard Margeurite de Rochechouart
I’m seeing an old new friend, she live so near but never go that far

Up and down the metro line, Haute cuisine and drink fine wine
Camembert and French baguette, her gallic shrug you can’t forget
Smoking gauloises cigarettes, salade nicoise and lipstick wet
Passion like I never knew, love me till I’m black n blue
It was love on Line 2

I'm Chris Price. I found this forum via TSF which is apparently going to close at the end of this month. I'm a veteran rock guy from the UK. I sing, write and record my own music using Cubase. I suppose you'd call it classic rock. It's not metal but it's mostly guitar driven. I do still play the occasional gig with a band - I usually play bass live though this is a separate venture from my recording project. I aim to write and record about a song a month depending on real life commitments. What else can I say? Glad to be here! :)
