As Tex points out, it's a simple revenge story, she sets up a naive kid and then she gets her just desserts by being set up herself. In this song, the story takes a back seat to the music and the hook.

followed your advice Robert, and I'm very pleased with the outcome.
Here's the link to the modified version for anyone interested
https://soundclick.com/song/15248998

and the modified lyrics to comply with Robert's suggestions:

[intro]

[verse 1]
I need to hold you,
feel your arms around me.
The warmth of your breath,
flowin’ soft across my neck.

[verse 2]
So many nights I’ve dreamt of this,
you pull me in so close.
Close my eyes an’ taste your kiss,
standin’ on my toes.

[pre-chorus]
Hold me here, don’t break the spell,
just keep me close to you.

[chorus]
hold you,
just let me hold you.
Can’t live without you,
never let me go.

[verse 3]
Like a scene from an old movie,
I’ve seen it all in mind.
I give myself to you completely,
a feelin’ so divine.

[bridge]
Is this what love’s about,
losin’ all control?
Nothin’ matters but that moment,
surrenderin’ body and soul.

[long musical interlude]

[pre-chorus]
Hold me here, don’t break the spell,
just keep me close to you.

[chorus]
hold you,
just let me hold you.
Can’t live without you,
never let me go.

[outro]
hold you,
just let me hold you.
All I ever wanted was you,
never let me go.

[fade to end]

My thanks once again Robert, I've learnt some things today.

Chris/Robert,
Thank you so much for your comments both of you.
In the spirit of openness and clarity and more for Roberts awareness, best I clarify a few things upfront.
All I do is write the lyrics, my knowledge of music is zero. I use Ai purely as a delivery mechanism to listen to the words. This all just a hobby to me and I have no desire whatsoever to seek to monetize any aspect of my work ever. That said, I am keen to improve what I do, and fully open to others learning from my works and what others have to say about them. So while comments such as "radio ready" may have little relevance to me, they will for others and I encourage you to continue with those very important details.
Apart from using various Ai engines, I don't know anything about other digital tools such as DAWs or stems etc. At my age (73), I have no intention of going down that road so my production skills, (if any) start and stop with Suno.
Robert, I can't thank you enough for the invaluable constructive feedback you have taken the time to give to this offering. I can assure you I will be poring over every comment made with a view to implementing your suggestions and I encourage others to do the same. Chris is aware of my background from TSF so he's already in the loop and aware of my limitations.
So glad to make your acquaintance and look forward to some good discussions in the future, my thanks again to you both.

Classic Tex, an outstanding piece of work to be proud of.
By the second verse I had tears in my eyes.
Played it for my wife and she ran out of the room halfway through.
Take a bow, she never does that for mine!
Outstanding writing Tex, if you never write another.............
Hope someone picks this up, it's a hit.

Thanks Tex/Chris,
Appreciate you finding the time to comment.
As to the chords, I wouldn't know my Am from my G7, thought it was a finance thing.
The kiddie vocals drive me nuts and it's only recently I've found a way to get around it.
The melody and rhythm seemed to go down a well worn country track so I opted for those.

One from the back catalogue

words mine/rest Ai

https://soundclick.com/song/15240880

[intro]

 [verse 1]

Well you might be rich and a stuck up ****

But you should'na done what you did

The things you said, you should'a kept to yourself

She was only sixteen and still just a kid

 [chorus]

It does feel good, an' I knew that it would

I've waited a while, for you to get your dues

Oh, I really do care, an' I wanna be there

When you get what's comin' to you

 [verse 2]

You pulled one of your tricks just to get those pic's

That guy would do whatever you said

She didn't know she was in a video

With the crush who had her in his bed

 [chorus]

It does feel good, an' I knew that it would

I've waited a while, for you to get your dues

Oh, I really do care, an' I wanna be there

When you get what's comin' to you

 [verse 3]

Your boyfriend Zac, was the star quarterback

You were blind to the passes under the bleachers

Till I sent the head some 6 by 4's in colour

of Zac scoring a touchdown, with one of the teachers

 [chorus]

It does feel good, an' I knew that it would

I've waited a while, for you to get your dues

Oh, I really do care, an' I wanna be there

When you get what's comin' to you

 [bridge]

 You got what you deserved,

and I really hope it hurt.

For all the pain you caused,

I'm glad that I was there

 [chorus]

It does feel good, an' I knew that it would

I've waited a while, for you to get your dues

Oh, I really do care, an' I wanna be there

When you get what's comin' to you

 [outro]

Oh, I really do care, an' I wanna be there

When you get what's comin' to you

Oh, I really do care, an' I wanna be there

When you get what's comin' to you

I'm with Chris on this one, whichever way you go with the structure it's still gonna come out an excellent song that ticks all the boxes. Loved it, well done.

Easy on the ear, good foot-tapping country fare.
Thanks for sharing the secret to happiness, I'll have some of that!
Lovely song, well done.

Robert,
The praise is well-deserved,
If I could write half as good as that, I would be very pleased with myself.
I certainly hope you have more to share with us, I'll be looking out for them.

An excellent piece of social commentary written in an easy flowing style.
Lost count of the brilliant phrases used throughout the song, well done.
Enjoyed this very much, you have a talent for this genre.

I've learnt from experience to read the lyrics through a couple of times before listening.
I know the music and vocals will be something else and I'll be drawn away from the story.
Good job I did, the technical work that must have gone into this production is awesome.
I learn a lot of prompting techniques from your work Bill, they really are a goldmine of tips and tricks.
Well done, excellent piece of work.

Hi Tex,
I'm expecting a sizeable migration of TSF members to make the journey West over the coming weeks.
Hoping to persuade Owen to join us and contribute his experience and skills.

May I ask if there are any prerequisites to posting a song, e.g. 2 comments on others songs before posting one of yours. Only one posting/person/day?
Thanks,
Sid

thank you for your comments, most appreciated.
I normally put the first chorus after 2 verses but I'd just finished reading a songwriting book which advised getting to the chorus as quickly as possible, so I tried it. Interested in comments on that one. The interludes in Suno are a legacy from another Ai engine that had a habit of running into the next section without a break. The interludes in this case acted as the "brake" if you'll excuse the pun!
Thanks again for the constructive feedback.
