« Last post by popitup on September 11, 2026, 09:51:09 pm »Mostly, I was suggesting in the first verse you could add something like . . . long time back, or many years ago, to set up the timeline up for a first time listener. Eventually, they will get it, the way you've worded it, but it could be stronger with some kind of opening clarification. Even something simple like "years ago, that's all Dad said", and in the second verse "my son, now a college man"
It's tricky to tell the story of a life in a 3 minute song, so any small thing to help the listener get it along the way can be helpful. As I mentioned the emotional part is all there, just a few small things . . . BTW, I really like it !
