Good use of suno as demo, complete with original artist recording! Alway liked this one, glad to add to my suno Kay-Lynn playlist. :D

MP3 songs for Review/Critique / Out of the Dark (this is why I use Suno)
« Last post by redwriter1 on June 17, 2026, 10:54:54 am »
Here is my silly guitar vocal which I would be embarrassed to pitch to anyone.

https://soundclick.com/song/6516653

And here is the suno version and it followed my song perfectly.

https://suno.com/s/4BrDatoqu9QHMPbH

[Verse 1]
In a heartbeat, in a teardrop
In a single moment in time
There's a light that goes on and
Baby you were mine
'Cause you shined love into my life I was blind
But now I see the light and it's all because of you
And one little spark, baby, I'm out of the dark

[Verse 2]
It was cold there, I don't know where
I would be right now
But you found me, wrapped around me
I still don't know how
You shined love into my life I was blind
But now I see the light and it's all because of you
And one little spark, baby, I'm out of the dark

[Verse 3]
You believed me, you could see me
When everyone else disappeared
It's amazing, must be crazy
I finally saw through the tears
When you shined love into my life I was blind
But now I see the light and it's all because of you
It's all because of you
It's all because of you
And one little spark, baby, I'm out of the dark

((((((((((((( I think it needs a bridge???))))))))))))))))))

So, I'm not cheating or having AI write the song for me, it's just a better voice.  What say you all?

MP3 songs for Review/Critique / Let's Fall In Love Again

Let’s Fall In Love Again

https://soundclick.com/song/15272928

Lyrics by Lawhon
Chord structure by Lawhon
Genre: Modern Country
Method: Old Lawhon G/V uploaded to SUNO
SUNO determined production

I thought that I was done with songs for a while, but SUNO makes it so fast and easy, that I knocked out another.  Am trying to assemble a collection for Spotify.  In this one, I uploaded an old G/V that I did not like into SUNO. The personal thrill comes when I get to hear the song sung the way that I always wished that I could.

[Intro]
[acoustic guitar strumming, clean electric guitar lead melody]
[drums and bass enter]

[Verse 1]
[baritone male vocals]
Last time that we broke up
I thought it for the best
All we did was fight
I had to put all that to rest
When I walked away
I had no future plans
Find some sunny days
And enjoy my life again

[Chorus]
[vocal harmonies enter]
And I found somebody new
And she wanted us to last
But my memories of you
Wrecked any chance we had
Let's fall in love again
But not where we left off
Let's find a way, make it stay
Last a lifetime long
Let's fall in love again
But not where we went wrong
The past is gone, we belong
In a love that we both want
Let's fall in love again

[Instrumental Break]
[electric guitar solo with melodic bends and slides]
[acoustic guitar rhythm continues]

[Verse 2]
They say in every life
There's one truest love
I guess that gets decided
In heaven up above
I think about such
I wonder if it's true
'Cause every time we split up
I want another you

[Chorus]
And I tried it on my own
I denied what I knew
That lovers come and go
But there's only one you
Let's fall in love again
But not like we left off
Let's find a way, make it stay
Last a lifetime long
Let's fall in love again
But not where we went wrong
The past is gone, we belong
In a love that we both want
Let's fall in love again
Again
Again

[Outro]
[electric guitar lead fades out]
[acoustic guitar final strum]

Staying One Step Ahead of the Past

I can hear the footsteps of
That bottomless whiskey glass
Lord, help me stay,
on your righteous way
one step ahead of the past

O one step ahead
One step ahead
One step ahead of the past

Lord my valley of regret
Is dark and it’s vast
So I pray and I weep
Lord, help me to keep
One step ahead of the past

O one step ahead
One step ahead
One step ahead of the past

Lord, one step ahead
One step ahead
One step ahead of the past

MP3 songs for Review/Critique / Re: For A Little Time More

Popitup,

Thank you for the praise.

Regarding the genre, I started that SC account thinking that I would start with guitar riffs and work them up into songs. "Alternate" seemed liked the best place for that. I still plan to do some of that.

But writing some lyrics and working them up in SUNO is so easy and immediate that I keep falling back on that, and my story-songs lean country. I guess I should change the genre in SC.

Anyways, thanks for listening and the encouragement.

Have an enjoyable day,

Lawhon

Very nice on the ears, with an uplifting message. It's very much a country song, so not sure why Soundclick lists it as "Alternative" ?
It's your first song I've listened to, so maybe your others are Alternative ? I always think of Alternative songs as being very different from the norm, with strange time signatures and beats etc . . . enough on that . . . I did enjoy listening to it ! Good job on the lyrics, I did read your Backstory, but I think the understanding of the lyric stands on it's own without that pre-explanation, that's usually half the battle in songwriting, at least for me.

This is a really great listen, certainly has that Smooth Operator vibe, and then some. The lyrics have a sense of fun about them as well, and kind of transported me back to the 80's club scene . . . back to a time when 4 minutes 30 seconds was the norm. Yes, I stayed 'til the end, and enjoyed it all very much !

I"m not sure what the stinkin fish line is about. I think I know, but don't think anyone wants to "sing" that.

Can you tell me what this song is supposed to be about>? Is it like rage against the machine or something?  Sorry, I'm a country writer, so I might be lost here.

Thank you Kay lynn, Steve and Chris.

In the things are never done department, I look at it again and again to look for better\more ways to make things move and tell the story.
Built a list so far and will release a fuller update later.

Doing the same with Galways Sons and with all I have learned now I want to go back to Pay For It and All Bad Together to make some tweaks.

First one we did together I will leave alone. Not because it is perfect as is just its a pretty good baseline for where I started.

This one I'm glad people see the humour in it.

I'm personally really proud of the Go Vegan on the fan stands wall.

I also want to do something with a can for Billy Goat.
