OK I'm giving this one a try.

My first car was a 1977 Cobra II white with blue stripes, it looked like the one Farrah Fawcett drove in Charlie's Angels. I bought it when I was 17, I saved my money from summer jobs from the time I was 13. Bought it right before my Sr year of high school, I could fill it up for about $8, my insurance was $42 a month.
I know this isn't a part of the challenge, but how many of you still have your first car? I do.
Here's my entry:

How Cool Was I

Had four in the floor and fifth under the seat
Eight track stereo system playin' a redneck beat
Two-fifty-five AC, two windows down at fifty-five
Hands tight on the steering wheel, fellin' alive

Set of teardrop Cragar's with white letter Goodyear's
302 with enough power to grab rubber in all four gears
Camaro boys tried to outrun me through the quarter mile
I'd dump that clutch and blow by 'em with a big ass smile

Oh. how cool was I
Tearin' through the Arkansas nights
In my white-and-blue racin' stripes
'77 Cobra II
There wasn't another one in town
Weekends I was king crusin' around
Oh man, how cool was I

I'll give it a try. My first car was a Ford Fiesta. Not sure they sold them here in the US. It was 1981. Man that car was cool.

[Verse]
Eighteen years old in a small German town
Fresh license in hand, windows rolled down
Had a job to chase, a few miles far
So I bought a dark red, pimped-up car

[Verse]
A Ford Fiesta with the rally stripes
Black spoilers made it look real nice
Clutch pedal shaking under nervous feet
Thinking I owned every Autobahn street

[Pre-chorus]
Gauges telling things I didn't need to read
Made a lot of noise, but didn't have the speed

[Chorus]
It was more looks than horsepower, of course
Lowered suspension but no real force
Black spoiler shining underneath the lights
Flying through those small-town summer nights

I learned real quick you can’t fake what’s real
Dressing up the frame won’t change how you feel
It still drives like any rusted ride
Yeah, it was more looks than horsepower inside

Ok, mine was a 69 skylark, but the way I got it, IS the story.   I'm working on it.

Blue 69 buick skylark belonged to my live in boyfriend during college.  I had some money for school in the bank and he wanted to buy a motorcycle for 750.00 and he wanted to borrow it from me, so I said I would, IF, he would sign over the pink slip to his skylark as collateral.  (My Mother taught me some ****, right?).  So we broke up, he didn’t pay for the motorcycle and I got a Skylark for 750.00. ta daaaaaaaaaaaa.

Not sure if there’s a song in there.. hahah

Kay-lynn I think you gave up too fast, I put together something and tried to fit in everything you had.
Might need some FURNITURE, and by the way what I've put as a pre-chorus really ought to be in a 2nd verse.
Here you go:

Collateral Damage

We were kids pretending we were grown
Sharing bills in a half-broke college home
Living with a wild boy full of motorcycle dreams
Chrome pipes, leather jackets and highway schemes

One night he said "Baby I found a bike,
Seventy-fifty cash and the price is right"
I had tips in a coffee can, my rainy day stash
Said "Buick pink slip, sign it and I'll loan you the cash"

Boxes by the doorway, silence in the hall
And he never came back to settle it all

Collateral damage, that's all I have to say
That Blue '69 Buick Skylark was my pay
Love burned out but the motor still run
Best deal I ever made with that man
I cruised through town with the radio loud
Collateral damage, Yeah, made me proud

Kay-lynn,

If you like the title, take it and run with it...

I was just playing around trying to fit everything you said in... :)
