The Ghost In Every Note (tentative)
« on: »
This is an invitation to write some lyrics for anyone interested.
Particularly, Red and Tex, I think that this tonalty and topic will be in your wheel-houses.
Stone, it may not be your wavelength, but you write with freshness and I'd love to hear your input.

The process:
I took a melody that was ringing in my head when I woke up today, and knocked out a basic guitar pattern.
Then I uploaded to SUNO and ask for a rocking version and a slowed down version.
I've written part of a chorus and once I get all the lyrics complete, I'm gonna ask SUNO to integrate all of it into a single song.
When that is done, I'm gonna load it to a DAW and see if I can make my own solo work.

The Chorus tells the basic story:

It's a guitar and a song thing.
Every time I strum these strings.
I hear your name ring.
You're The Ghost in every note I sing.

(Will complete with something conveying even though gone and never to return the guitar makes me feel close to you again)

MUSIC to be VCVCBC

SUNO rock-ish version  Personal fav so far
SUNO slowed down version
My original input

Thought it might be fun as a Collab tune. If no one has any interest, No prob, I'll enjoy knocking it out.

OK try this, it just something quick...

Faded photograph beside my bed
Your goodbye still lives on in my head
Morning light can't hide the truth
I'm still writing songs for you

It's my guitar thing
Every time I strum these srtings
I hear your name ring
You're the ghost in every note I sing

Everybody tells me to move along
Find somebody new and write a new song
But every lyric finds your face
Every songs your hiding place

It's my guitar thing
Every time I strum these strings
I hear your name ring
You're the ghost in every note I sing

Maybe that's what love becomes
A melody that's never gone
Long after our story's done
Your harmony keeps hanging on

It's my guitar thing
Every time I strum these strings
I hear your name ring
You're the ghost in every note I sing

Faded photograph beside my bed
Your goodbye still lives on in my head

Listen and make your own on Suno.

I lean a bit more to the slower pace...

Maybe this will give you something to work with...
Kay-lynn may have a different angle on this...

The Ghost In Every Note 260712 12:52am

Sounds pretty good.

I listened again and I keep wanting to hear one more line in the last chorus...
Maybe add (The Ghost in every note I sing) once more as a tag...

Agreed.  Will add line and keep working on it.
If you have any other suggestions, let me know.
Have a good evening.
Thanks for working on it.
Love what you did.

Tex,
I don't want this one to finish.
Working on it is too enjoyable.

I re-wrote the chorus (blue letters below)

The Ghost In Every Note

[CHORUS]
It's my guitar and a song kinda thing.
Every time I strum those strings.
The sound of your name rings.
It's my guitar and a song kinda thing.
Time won’t erase the way it stings
My mind let go but my heart still clings
You're The Ghost in every note that I sing.

Hello Lawhon,
I liking the way you are using the resources here and about to build the song.

Your original guitar track sounds great, chords and melody notes, played and recorded nicely.

Then that, amazing expansion by ai suno.

Music going good, next up…lyric! Chorus….great place to start. I like the original chorus idea.

I like the notion of past love becoming a ‘ghost’. It’s a complex idea, and a powerful image…handle with care.

Also, an artist’s music, is its own particular ‘love’….so complex.

Care must be taken, in mixing the two ideas.

My idea, then is the music created, saves and preserves the artist from his ‘ghosts’.

Hey great project going here!

Thanks for stopping by Bill.
Your attention and kind words are appreciated.

I disagree about my guitar playing on the upload though. I thought that it was badly uneven.
But SUNO is such a powerful producer, that it took those bones and blew them up into a very impressive production.

It took a tune that was ringing in my head one morning, followed by a skeletal guitar melody, and blew it up into an impressive full production in seconds. Amazing time to be alive.

I did that with the Ocean Breeze song also. On that my guitar audio was better.

Lots of fun, fast, easy.

And if that is not enough, I have access to a tremedous lyricist right here on Starfish.

Thanks again for leaving your comment.
