Carolina Day

The order of the day seems to be happy and upbeat songs.
I thought I'd add one.
This is about riding a motorcycle on the NC section of the Blue RIdge Parkway.

[Intro]
[strummed acoustic guitar, light percussion]

[Verse 1]
[male vocals enter]
I see raindrops tapping on rooftops
Down in a valley way below me
Ride with me and celebrate a Carolina day

[Verse 2]
Sunlit motorbike leaning it left and right
Just like a bird in flight, feels so free
Ride with me and celebrate a Carolina day

[Chorus]
Golden and crimson leaves cover mountainsides
Mountains rolling, scraping peaks against the sky
Carolina beauty everywhere all around me
All around me

[Verse 3]
A peregrine fowl-con dropped down from high on.
To check me and my motorcycle out.
Floating on the sky, he looked me in the eye,
said enjoy the  day, then he rode the wind away

[Chorus]
Golden and crimson leaves cover mountainsides
Mountains rolling, scraping peaks against the sky
Carolina beauty everywhere all around me
All around me

[Outro]
Ride with me and celebrate a Carolina day
Ride with me and celebrate a Carolina day
Ride with me and celebrate a Carolina day
Ride with me and celebrate a Carolina day
[clean electric guitar solo, acoustic guitar continues]
[fade out]

I wish that was me Tex.
It's very tasty stuff.
But the music is SUNO.
I uploaded a GV and SUNO followed the structure but did it's thing with the production.

I have spent the last couple of hours reworking the song. I added a verse 3 about a falcon and sorted through some more SUNO productions.

I think, that maybe, possibly, I improved on it.   ;)

Thanks for stopping by.

at the risk of seeming redundant...I really really love this song.  Got to ask...what did you feed into suno to get this out come?  And if I might ask, how much of the song is yours, lyrics, music, chord progressions etc?

Thanks Stone.

As for method:
Years ago, using a DAW, I decided on a chord progression and wrote the lyrics entirely myself then did a DAW recording yielding a G/V mp3. I dug out that mp3 and uploaded it to SUNO. There is an "AUDIO" button where you upload in SUNO.

This is the link to the DAW version with me on guitar and vocal with a few VSTs.

My prompt to SUNO was as follows:

"Genre to be MODERN COUNTRY. SUNO to interpret and assess lyrics and music, and then make all decisions regarding production."

My thoughts are...SUNO is training itself on the biggest hits on any charts. It knows miles more about how to make a song sound good than I do. SUNO is an ultra producer. If I start telling it to do this or that, I am just going to be getting in it's way and probably diminishing the ultimate outcome. I have personally found that when I turn SUNO loose and step back, I get a good outcome immediately and only need to do a few iterations before I call it done.

If I was a producer, trying to create a hit, for a band that had a certain array of instruments, then I might prompt for those instruments, but I would still endeavor to get out the way as much as possible.

Lastly, what I have noticed is, the better the raw mp3 sounds that is uploaded, the better I have found the outcome to be. When I only upload lyrics and prompt, the iterations seem much more hit-and-miss.

I hope any of that is useful to you. Post up if I can help in any other way.

Duh, thanks. Hey I've listened to your original version a few times...I'think it's better than the Suno version.  Why did you post the artificial version first?  Just saying this song wrings true to your voice and your song writing brilliance.  I'm working with Suno on some of my originals, but, I refuse to let it sing my song...I'll post an example coming up...love this song Lawhon

Stone,

Regarding my voice and the original GV...
I respectfully disagree.
To my ear, my voice sounds weak, fails in spots, my pitch is all over the place, and tonally...I sound like one of the unremarkable guys in the rear of the choir, who is told just to try to stay in the pocket, and try not to get noticed for something discordant.

The SUNO voice has everything working for it, based in mathematical accuracy and delivery.

Nonetheless, thanks for your encouragement on the song. I appreciate it much.

Enjoy your evening. Go USA futbol.
