Harder Than An Ugly Stripper

[Verse]
Bank account thinner than a preacher's lie
Still throwing hay with a middle-finger sky
Got red clay on the side of my jeans
Living that paycheck-to-paycheck dream

Pickup's got dents, but still runs straight
Held together by hope and a license plate
Check engine light been glowing for years
Me and that Chevy got the same damn fears

[Pre-Chorus]
You can keep your shortcuts, keep your luck
I was raised on "Get it Done" and an old farm truck

[Chorus}
I work harder than an ugly stripper
Ain't nobody giving me nothing but blisters
Clock won't stop and bills get bigger
That's why I grind a little harder than an ugly stripper

[Verse]
Lunchbox empty by a quarter past ten
Back at it again 'cause it is what it's been
Everybody flexing on borrowed bankroll
I'm just trying to own the dirt beneath my soul

My buddies say, "Man, you need a vacation"
I said, "Brother, gas cost more than my motivation"
If duct tape, hope, and prayer were legal tender
I'd own half the country by the first of September

[Pre-Chorus]
Everybody talks big sitting on a barstool
I'm too busy working to argue with a fool

[Chorus]
I work harder than an ugly stripper
Ain't nobody giving me nothing but blisters
Clock won't stop and bills get bigger
That's why I grind a little harder than an ugly stripper

[Bridge]
Yeah, I cuss at my truck and laugh at my luck
Still show up every morning 'cause I don't give up
Call me stubborn, call me crazy, call me whatever you please---
Just don't call asking for a loan from me

[Chorus]
I work harder than an ugly stripper
Ain't nobody giving me nothing but blisters
Clock won't stop and bills get bigger
That's why I grind a little harder than an ugly stripper

[Outro]
So if you see me covered up in dirt and grease, don't pity me
I'm just another blue-collar fool chasing a little dignity
Life don't owe me nothing, and I ain't mad about it either
I'll just work a little harder...       than an ugly stripper

Enjoyed this tune very much.

Could not see that title and not want to hear it.
Bridge is great.

Nice touch with the audience participation on the recording.

I gotta admit, that is one clever title that you can't help but click on!!!

You have a certain gift Tex........ no doubt about it.

I must say, my brain looked at the word "harder" and went to a "male" place... how weird am I?? LOL

Lol...
My guess is that 999 out of 1000 people would look at that title and go to the same place that you, and I, did.

That device is another thing that makes the song enjoyable.

And I agree...Tex has a certain gift.

Thanks LAWHON, glad you took time to listen.

I thought this would go over good in a club setting... Years ago I went to a club in Austin called the Broken Spoke don't know if it would still be there, but this would go over good somewhere like that.
