I love the idea of a Challenge topic! If I have time, I would like to participate. (Working on another new song currently, but I hope to finish that by tomorrow.. Always have one or more in process- yikes). I hope a few people will be doing this one - thanks for proposing it.

Yes, you can post your verse and chorus here.

Pretty much lyrics, but if you wanna spin it through Suno if you like, that's fine too.

I can't wait to figure out even what I'm gonna come up with! lol

Post the challenge in the lyrics section if we're just doing a lyric challenge.

But it's totally up to you. We can make it a suno challenge later. :)

Ok Tex, you're probably right.

Let's just do lyrics to start.

In addition, you can "like" multiple entries, but whoever ends up with the most wins.

Ok, I'll give it a try. This is quick and dirty. Feel free to modify or expand this...

Verse
I found it on an old phone in a kitchen drawer
Dust on the screen, hadn’t charged it in years before
Said “one unheard message” from a Friday night
Back when I was too busy chasin’ neon lights
Hit play and your voice filled up the room
Like you never left, like it wasn’t too soon
You said “Hey, just call me when you get the time…”
Man, I’d give anything just to rewind

Chorus
Still on my phone… you’re not gone
Every word’s a light I keep
Yeah, I lost you in my sleep
But I found you in that beep
Still on my phone… you’re not gone

Here's my quick..................

I’m sorry honey, I’m running late
But I can’t wait to see you tonight
I’ve had a lot of things on my plate
But I’m gonna make things right

Her heart skipped a beat
at the sound of his voice
3 times she hit  repeat
Looks like he’d made his choice

Chorus:
She  knew all along he would come around
In the back of the closet pulls out her old gown
High heels and stockings the whole nine yards
It’s time they make a brand new start

(spoiler alert, he was calling his girlfriend not his wife_)
When you row someone else across the river, you get there yourself

Your Last Goodbye

Verse
I saw your name light up my phone
Couldn't remember when you called last
Figured I'd call you back someday
Like I've said before, just not today

Got caught up in a different life
Someone else's arms and different nights
Never thought time could slip away so fast
Didn't know that call would be your last

Pre Chorus
Now your voice lives forever in my phone
A ghost in my pocket, never leaving me alone

Chorus
I missed you last goodbye
Let it ring while you were slipping away
Now I play it on repeat and cry
Hearing you fade, hearing you sigh
You said "I don't have long left now"
God, I wish I'd have listened then, somehow
But silence was my only reply
To your last goodbye

Not sure I did this properly, but just for fun here is my attempt:

[Sound FX: Voice-Mail Beep]

[Verse 1] [Female vocals]
Hey, just heard your message
A week late! … hate to say
Woulda accepted in a heartbeat
Hope ya had a good time, anyway

[Pre-Chorus] [Female vocals]
Ugh! My bad… my loss, I know it
Dumb phone - such a ****!
Bet you thought I was curvin' you
Worst time for it to glitch

[Chorus 1] [Female vocals]
Missed messages, dropped signals
Had no clue that you cared
Still can’t believe you called me
Off-guard … and a little scared

It was a long time ago
We were drunk
And she was an angel
Gave her my number
Yeah I Left on the table
Snuck out early
Yeah I knew this was the one
I Never got the call
So I figured we were done
Till last night I found your Message on my  phone
Sitting in the dark all alone

Chorus:
Hello this is Jessica
Or you can call me Jessie
I got your note
You really put me in the mood
Did I mention…I'm a dude
