Verse 1

There's a man still talking

'Bout the good old days

Like time froze up

And never changed

He's got yesterday playing

On a worn-out tape

While tomorrow's knocking

But it's getting late

Chorus

It ain't your imagination…

The future's already here

But everybody's still waiting

For the past to reappear

Nobody wants tomorrow

'Til yesterday disappears

Verse 2

Still talking yesterday

Like it's coming back

While tomorrow's rolling

Right down the track

You can hold on tight

To what you used to know

But the river keeps running

And it won't slow

Chorus

It ain't your imagination…

The future's already here

But everybody's still waiting

For the past to reappear

Nobody wants tomorrow

'Til yesterday disappears

And brother… these ain't the golden years

Bridge

The past is dead the present dies about this time

I just bury it and say it was never mine

Ch

It ain't our imagination

the future's already here

But were still waiting

For the past to reappear

Nobody wants tomorrow

'Til yesterday disappears

And brother… tomorrow's already here

This will be sung Sunday using Suno as a map and Using Nicky V in Nashville to made the guitar tracks

I like the lyric, but the music seems painfully slow.  is it just me?
When you row someone else across the river, you get there yourself

WEll its a ballad , its radio friendly at 3:43
My version will have gospel singers filling in lines with ooooh's
And repeating lines in last chorus
it will not say Golden years like Suno is doing
I can hear the BGVS in my head now , Yes it is slow
For the sake of using Suno as a map , Here's the human version done by Nicky V in Nashville I will sing to Sunday

cuz you had me curious
AI Overview
No, 65 BPM is not too slow for a ballad; it is actually a very typical, "ideal" tempo for a slow to moderate-slow ballad. A 60–70 BPM range is often considered a perfect tempo for ballads, hymns, and emotional pieces, as it matches a resting heart rate and feels grounded and steady.

I bumped it up to 80 BPM , that solves the slow part . Good catch Kay-Lynn

I still think it's a beautiful song...... I just wanted my brain to get to the next line... Great job and I will listen again.

Now it's at 80.... Good catch it was to slow
The bridge puts me in it
I changed last chorus so I'm not preaching to the choir
The BGVS will  still fit when I'm done

Bridge

The past is dead the present dies about this time

I just bury it and say it was never mine

Ch

It ain't our imagination

the future's already here

But were still waiting

For the past to reappear

Nobody wants tomorrow

'Til yesterday disappears

And brother… tomorrow's already here

Now its at 3:18 good radio time

it has to have the bridge or I'm acting better than everybody else ,Now I'm not , I miss the past also

The golden years does not fit , that would change the angle to aging . Thats why I fixed it to
And brother… tomorrow's already here

Why did I try golden years? Cuz I'm in these golden years
