If You Knew How It Would End

[Verse]
We were young enough to call it fate
Strong enough to make the same mistakes
Chasing paradise down unmapped county roads
Never asking where tomorrow goes

[Pre-Chorus]
Now that the dust has settled on the years
And I'm standing here with all these memories

[Chorus]
If you knew how it all would end
Would you go back and do it all over again
Would you take my hand, would you take that chance
Knowing every heartbreak waiting around the bend
If you knew how it all would end
Would you still choose our love---despite the end

[Verse]
Every scar has got a story now
Every promise found its way somehow
Some are faded photographs in drawers
Others still live behind locked doors

[Pre-Chorus]
Looking back through laughter and regret
I'd be lying if I said I'd just forget

[Chorus]
If you knew how it all would end
Would you go back and do it all over again
Would you take my hand, would you take that chance
Knowing every heartbreak waiting around the bend
If you knew how it all would end
Would you still choose our love---despite the end

[Bridge]
I'd relive every midnight call
Every time I watched you walk away
Just to have one more summer night
Before we became yesterday

[Final Chorus]
If you knew how it all would end
Would you go back and do it all over again
I'd still choose that road, I'd still choose that ride
Even knowing you'd be gone someday
Yeah, If I knew how it all would end
I'd go back and do it all over again

Tex,
This one is very emotional. Very! I like the theme: how it explores the bittersweet nostalgia of a past love that was beautiful but ultimately destined to end. The emotional turning point occurs during the bridge, where the singer transitions from questioning his former partner to offering his own vulnerable confession. In the final chorus, I like how the vocalist declares that he would willingly relive every moment of heartbreak all over again. The music and vocals are a perfect fit.

Tex,

It seems that you are in a mood to reflect-back

I liked your last one so much that I put on headphones to hear this one.
Compelling question to ask a listener, that would cause many to think back about their own past.

Wonderful song.

Thanks Rob and LAWHON,

Some time the good out weighs the bad.

Thanks for taking time to listen and comment.
