I'm very interested to pitch this on The Song Tuner but I feel like verse 2 might be a little too subtle...I've tweaked it as follows (just don't have a recording yet), prob is that adds a little more time and i was trying to stay under 4 min...that might push it slightly over, so would love to hear which you all prefer and/or any other suggestions/comments...thank you!!:
(Verse 2 tweak)
...
But I lost her needs
Fightin' ghosts I thought were hidden
Said she felt unseen
And left to find someone who'd listen
Now these empty walls keep echoin'
All I was forgettin

Bring Her Home
(Verse 1)
I can still feel my shaky palms
As I waited on those steps
'Til the door opened and there he stood
Like a wrought iron fence
I said nice to meet you, is she ready?
He held the moment weighing me
Talking small against the silence felt
Like eternity
(Prechorus)
Then he grilled me for everything I knew
I said I know just how you feel, He said
No, I don't think you do
(Chorus)
She aint just my only girl
My whole world and why I breathe
She aint just the only reason
{I’m prayin' underneath}
She’s the best that I’ve been given
And I’ll give it all to see the light shine in her eyes {all the time}
{So you be a man, and bring her home tonight}
(Verse 2)
Time and time I proved it
'Til she trusted me her hand
Yeah she gave me all that she had
And held nothing back
But I Iost her needs
Fightin' ghosts I thought were hidden
Said she felt unseen
And left to find someone who'd listen
Now these empty walls keep echoin'
All I was forgettin'
(Chorus)
{I'm breakin' underneath}
{one more time}
{I'm gonna be a man, and bring her home tonight}
(Bridge)
I know my foundation faltered
But I've framed it even stronger
Underpinned, settled in
It's just missin' all of her
(Chorus)
{I'm just a man, who's gotta bring her home tonight}
(Outro)
Hope she understands
And lets me bring her home
Tonight
