Well I guess Kay-lynns challenge #2 never got off the ground.
The challenge was: You brought them into the world, the least you can do is let them show it to you.
I'm not sure this is what she had in mind for the challenge but it's what I did. I'm not the average bear and I kind of think a bit different, So her goes:
Listen and make your own on Suno.
Sky-Blue Eyes
There's a little pink backpack by the door
Coloring book and crayons lying on the floor
Doctor talked in words I couldn't take
She just drew hearts on a paper plate
She said, "Daddy, don't you cry"
With a brave little smile in her sky-blue eyes
Hospital room under midnight light
She counted stars shinning bright
She said, "If Heaven's got a backyard swing"
"Daddy, when you come visit, will you push me?"
I tried to be strong, but she saw though me
Said, "I'm not scared, so you don't have to be"
Sky-blue eyes, never feared goodbye
Held my hand while I broke inside
She had a faith I couldn't find
In a world that just ain't kind
Yeah, she walked through fire with a heart so wide
My little girl---wasn't afraid to die
Last few days felt like stolen time
Every breath was a fragile line
She said, "Promise me you'll laugh again"
Like she knew how this would end
I kissed her head, said, "I'll be okay"
But she was the one that showed me the way
Sky-blue eyes, never feared goodbye
Held my hand while I broke inside
She had a faith I couldn't find
In a world that just ain't kind
Yeah, she walked through fire with a heart so wide
My little girl---wasn't afraid to die
Now I see her in the summer sky
In every sunset's golden lights
I hear her voice in the quiet nights
Saying, "Love doesn't end with goodbye"
Sky-blue eyes still guide my life
Through the darkest days and longest nights
She gave me faith I couldn't find
Taught me to live in a world that just ain't kind
Yeah, she walked through fire with a heart so wide
My little girl---showed me how to live this life
I thought I was there to make her strong
Turns out she'd been teaching me all along
