Well, I shuffled through the fog
Down a dirty boulevard
To a revival theater on third
Snuck in a Hershey Bar
Watched Casablanca in the dark
And tried to take my mind off my heart

Wandered up the avenue
Then I listened to
Kind of Blue
In the dingy walk-up I call home
Sipped on some Cutty Sark
Cursed the neighbor’s mutt when he barked
And tried to take my mind off my heart

When I told him I cared
He’d always retreat
I always played fair
So why did he cheat

The knock was faint on my door
My fishnets whispered across the floor
And there he was with his hat in his hand
He said, “broken souls cry alike
I was four rows behind you tonight
Tryin’ to take my mind off my heart

I was going to arrange several tracks in a row as a jazz suite, but ran out of motivation, haha. It would be about 20 minutes long.

I may get around to it...
