Good morning Tex, and thank you.
I think that we enjoy the same basic road.
To my ear, "Your Last Goodbye" is exquisite.
Your comment "beautiful song" regarding this song is meaningful and appreciated.

Have a pleasant say.

Smooth Operator. I remember it well and I can hear the influence. I love the vibe and I'd love to hear a real band play this song. You've got Suno to do the business for you very well, though I have to say that it does sound like Suno if you know what I mean.

A cool song. :)

Hey Chris,
thanks for taking the time to listen and comment. I understand exactly what you're saying. I downloaded the individual stems and the drum track sounds really bad. But, my AI voice on the other hand sounds sensational. It really sounds like me, just much, much better.

BACKSTORY (if interested)
This song is based fairly closely on an actual event.  I know this married couple from years ago. The wife had a fairly routine surgery, but after the surgery her body produced blood clots that attacked one of her lungs.  At first they didn't know what was wrong, only that she was in excruciating pain. An ambulance was called. At the hospital emergency room a doctor ran some tests and said that it was her opinion that the wife was suffering from blood clots to the lungs. The husband asked what was going to be done, and the doctor suggested administering heavy duty blood thinners. The husband asked how quickly they would take effect and the Doctor responded that they would take about an hour to become effective. The husband asked if his wife could die in the next hour and the doctor responded that it was possible. The husband said that he went down  a hallway and found an empty room, and though not religious at all, dropped to his knees and began to pray, and felt some sort of presence in the room with him. The wife recovered and I asked the husband later what he thought when he  looked back on that experience. He said that his best guess was, that the possibility of his wife's death was so overwhelming that his mind entered an altered state of some form of repression and constructed a presence that he was familiar with, and made it seem real. I asked if he was sure of that, and he said no, that he would never be sure of anything with regards to exactly what happened on that night.

[Intro]
[fingerstyle acoustic guitar, alternating bass pattern]

[Verse 1]
[baritone male vocals enter]
Doctor walked in, about a quarter past ten
Said it'd take an hour for the drugs to kick in
I said, "Doctor, what about now?" till then

[Verse 2]
Said we've done all we can, we can only wait
Times like this, rest with faith
In an hour, we could find we're too late

[Chorus]
I looked at my baby, all the pain on her face
Wondered to myself, how'd we get to this place?
I hurt so bad, couldn't even cry

[Verse 3]
I stepped down the hall, dropped down on my knees
I said, "If you're listening, Jesus please
Don't take my baby, please leave my baby with me"

[Verse 4]
I know her place in heaven is already made
Seen her clutch her cross in the car when she prayed
'Til this broke me down, I never needed a Lord
But I beg you let me keep her for a little time more

[Instrumental Break]
[acoustic guitar solo continues fingerstyle pattern]

[Verse 5]
I sat by her side, watched the clock on the wall
Hands wouldn't move, time had stalled
Don't take her Jesus, please leave my baby with me

[Verse 6]
Nurse walked in, took her by the right hand
Said, "You rest now Missy, you get all that you can"
And how about you Mister? Are you hanging in?

[Verse 7]
I said, "All that I am, plays out in that bed
If she don't make it, there'll be two of us dead
Don't take her Jesus, please leave my baby with me"

[Outro]
I know how much you love her, believe me I do
I've seen so many times how she feels about you
'Til this broke me down, I never needed a Lord
But I beg you let me keep her for a little time more
[acoustic guitar fades out]

A great example of musical talent using today's technology to show us what is possible....really well done Rob

Steve

Thanks, Steve. That means a lot coming from you.

I've been writing songs for a long time, and I see AI as just another tool in the toolbox. The exciting part for me is being able to hear ideas come to life that might otherwise have stayed in a notebook or on a hard drive.

I'm glad this one connected with you. Thanks again for listening and for the kind words.

Two thumbs up on this one Rob.

Very good job here.

Tex, thanks so much. Sometimes the simplest feedback says it all. I'm delighted the song connected with you and appreciate you taking the time to listen.

I'm in a bar with that lounge softly achatter as you wordgaze across the table from eachother...

Is that a Spanish wine she is drinking?

John, I love that image. If the song put you in a lounge watching two people communicate across a table without saying a word, then it did exactly what I hoped it would do.

And yes, let's make it a Spanish wine.

Thanks for listening and for sharing the picture the song painted for you.

Beautifully done, great story line, very pro production sound...and the cherry on top...what a great voice!  Might want to post the lyrics next time always fun to read the lines.
Nearer clearer rear view mirror, very catchy
