Hello, My name is BJ Brown. I did 5 years on a label in Nashville in the early 90s alongside Lee Greenwood, Highway 101, BJ Thomas and others. My producer was the late Larry Butler, who was Kenny Rogers producer as well as the head of Capitol Records for many years. I was very new to music then and Larry helped coach me into writing and working on the art of songwriting during my time with the label. They recorded two projects with me but never officially released before the label dissolved. I came home and continued to write and send stuff to Larry and he helped me work on it and we made some demos. I eventually put it all on the back burner to focus on family and started getting back into it these last few years. I’ve attended workshops at the Bluebird and I’m always learning more and more, I love listening to other writers and hearing their take on various subjects. I’d love to get published again someday but it’s a never dying desire deep inside just to write and share all I can.
