Friends, I retired from automobile sales after 32 years. I managed a new car dealership and worked 6 days a week which included working many long hours. I was raising a family of 5 children, but on those days I did get off, I was selfish with my time and did the things I wanted to do instead of giving my children the real quality time they deserved. Time is much more valuable than just providing for a child. Now I know, and I live with those regrets.

Song Title:
HEAVY CHAINS OF REGRET
Lyrics:
Wish I could go back...
Chasin’ my own road, too fast to turn around,
Left my kids to grow up in that sleepy little town.
Doing my own thing I was barely there to see,
My children's lives, unfoldin’ right in front of me.
Heavy chains of regret, I'll carry all my days,
Too selfish to care, wouldn't change my ways.
Now, I’d give up my world, to be there for their cries,
Hold their hands, wipe the tears, from their eyes.
Wanting my own good times, they felt the pain,
Time carved its scars, I’m the one to blame.
Chose my own darkness, over their morning light,
Now, I wake up crying, in the still of the night.
I only cared about myself, let their days drift by,
Missed them growing up, wish I would have tried.
I’d swap all my tomorrows, to rewind those yesterdays,
This regret’s a blade that cuts me deeper every day.
Heavy chains of regret, I'll carry all my days,
Too selfish to care, wouldn't change my ways.
Now, I’d give up my world, to be there for their cries,
Hold their hands, wipe those tears, from their eyes.
Wish time could turn back, I'd guard their hearts,
Regret’s a lonesome road, it's where losing starts.
I'd give most anything, if the hurt could be undone,
But, now it’s just me, and this shadow... I can’t outrun.
